Saturday at Lumley

Saturday at Lumley

The next meeting of Sat@ will be held on Saturday 12 April at 7.00pm.

This Sat @ is a special occasion because it is the final evening of our ten days of mission with a team of students from Cliff College. The team leave on the following Sunday to head back to Derbyshire. It's going to be  a great occasion and we want as many as possible to be there.

Worship will be led by the team and there will be opportunities to share what God has done in the ten days of mission at Lumley.

Saturday at Lumley is normally held on the second Saturday of each month at 7.00pm. Anyone is welcome to come along. It's always a good idea to check the meeting is definitely on so call Tom Sterling on 0191 388 5568 to get a definitive answer. We are continuing to meet on the second Saturday of each month as much as possible but for one Saturday in each quarter we will join with the Exalt congregation at Chester-le-Street instead of meeting as Sat@.

We are being guided by two key scriptures:

1 Corinthians 14: 26: “What shall we say, brother? When you come together, everyone has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. All these must be done for the strengthening of the church.”
Hebrews 10: 24-25: “And let us consider how we can spur each other on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another – and all the more as you see the day approaching.”

Simplicity and intimacy will be the hallmarks of our meeting together and our worship. We hope that each person who comes will ‘bring’ something as a means of encouragement for each other. On that basis we will be watching out for the prophetic and also ministering to each other through prayer and what we share. We won’t be booking speakers.

We also want to spur each other on towards love and good deeds. For me, that means mission through acts of kindness and involvement in our own communities.
