Mission Team from Cliff for 10 days in Lumley

A Cliff College mission team will be at Lumley for ten days from 4-13 April 2014.

Ten days of mission

A few months ago we had no plans at all for a mission team to come to Lumley. If that’s so, whose plan is this mission? Well, since we had no plans for a mission, we are believing that God Himself planned this so we could join in His plans.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29: 11 (NIV)

These ‘ten days’ of mission start on Friday 4 April with some key visits to local schools by the team. We need to pray for those visits and their impact in the schools. The teams will be arriving on Thursday night for a briefing and to meet their hosts who will be providing a bed for the night. Thank you to those who have stepped up to offer accommodation and meals.
“Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.” Romans 12: 13 (ESV)

It’s absolutely vital to this mission that all of us - young and old - play a part. It’s going to be a busy ten days but the will be a blessed ten days too. Please don’t get into the mindset that the Cliff team will do it all. Make it your aim to turn up at the events on the timetable and get involved in God’s mission.
“Now he who plants and he who waters are one; but each will receive his own reward according to his own labour. For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building.” 1 Corinthians 3: 8 (NIV)

The timetable gives a good overview of the ten days so you can appreciate all the time and effort that is being put in. Please notice that regular meetings which would normally have a break in the school holidays are continuing to run with the help of the team. Note also the contribution of the Heaven’s Kitchen team in providing lunches and evening meals at no cost to the church!

These key events are worth highlighting:
“Big Questions?”workshops and sleepover (for over 11s)
Over the weekend of 5 and 6 April, for our own young people plus the young people involved in Wear Mencap to explore ‘The Big Questions?’

Community/Family night
To be held on Monday 6 April . Watch out for details.
